Don’t Ignore The Warning Signs!

Today we got a quick message from a property manager.  One of her renters noticed a faint “smokey” smell when the dryer would run.  As electricians, we know this type of situation is often serious, so we made this call a priority.  Our service technician arrived and not only was there a “smokey” smell when the dryer ran, but there was an audible sizzling noise as well.  Investigation revealed that the breaker switch had failed and actually melted in the breaker box.  If this had been ignored eventually it would have caused a fire.  Thankfully, the property manager took the situation seriously and called for help immediately.
